HERBERT J. CLUKEY Funeral services were held at St. Mary's Catholic Church at Painesville, Ohio, Friday morning for Herbert J. Clukey, 71, formerly of Dexter, who died in a Painesville hospital Tuesday. Interment was at All Souls Cemetery, Chardon, Ohio. He was born at Dexter, July 9, 1889. A graduate of Colby College at Waterville, he served as principal of the Brownville Junction High four years He then entered the U. S. Customs Service, serving Van Buren, Jackman Station and Fort Kent; but retired in March, 1955, due to ill health. Mr. Clukey was a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus at Fort Kent. He and his wife, the former Maude M. Lapointe of Dexter, had been living with their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Robert C. Hall, at Painesville. Other survivors besides his widow and daughter, Mrs. Hall, are another daughter, Mrs. Ian Robertson of Silver Spring, Md., a son, Herbert, Jr., of Fairfax, Va., a brother George Clukey of Dexter and a sister, Mrs. Henry Ronco of Bingham.
