Peter Mountain Peter Mountain, 70, passed away Wednesday night about 8 o'clock at his home in this town. Though he had been in failing health several months he was confined to his bed only a few days prior to his death. He was able to attend and enjoy the ceremonies at the laying of the cornerstone of the postoffice building and was down town one day last week. Mr. Mountain was born in Dexter and has always made his home here. He was the son of Peter and Marie Poulin Mountain, who came to Dexter from Canada. Entering the woolen mill when a young man he has been employed as a weaver the greater part of his life. Funeral services will be held at St. Ann's Catholic church Saturday forenoon at 9 o'clock and interment will be at Mt. Pleasant cemetery. Surviving are his wife, Delia Higgins Mountain, two sons, Matthias and Anthony Mountain; three daughters, Mrs. John Clark, Mrs. Frederick Clukey, and Miss Elizabeth Mountain all of Dexter; three brothers, Joseph and Edward of Dexter and Henry of Sabattus; also eleven grandchildren. The deceased was a charter member of Cardinal Mercier Council, Knights of Columbus, and six members will act as bearers.
