Samuel W. Crawford Samuel W. Crawford passed to the higher life from his home in District No. 10, at the age of 51 years and 4 months, on September 13. He was the oldest son of James Crawford and Emeline Ellis Crawford of Dexter. He is survived by a mother, Mrs. Emeline Crawford Moore, a wife, Mrs. Angie Crawford, and a daughter, Miss Edith Crawford, a sister, Miss Jennie Crawford, and brother, C. H. Crawford, of Dexter, also five half sisters, Mrs. Eliza Briggs and Mrs. Abbie Richardson of Dexter, Mrs. Elizabeth Newcomb of Clinton, Mrs. Annie Clifford of Pal- myra, and a half brother, Ralph P. Moore, of Dexter. Although in failing health for 16 years and for more than a year unable to change his position in his chair or move, except his head and one hand, he was never heard to complain, never admitted he was sick. His mind was wonderfully clear and memory perfect and had a keen interest in all around him. Because of his wonderful courage and cheerful spirit few realized how much he suffered, but those who cared for him. Although he will be greatly missed, he is now at rest.
